At least that’s why six-year-old Samuel Savannah enjoys playing with the trademark blocks.
Samuel was one of more than 1000 Lego fans to attend this year’s “Bricktastic” in Junee on Saturday, with some of the finest plastic handiwork from across the state on display.
The one-of-a-kind event featured a wide-range of creations, with 15 large-scale exhibitions and a range of DIY brick building area, spanning across 60 tables of Lego at the Aquatic Centre.
But it was not only children who were in raptures over the bright, colourful and interactive exhibition.
Andrew Tremolar, who was sharing the day with his five-year-old son, said his love of Lego had followed him into adulthood.
“There’s always a good association there,” Mr Tremolar said. “It’s nostalgic … then you have children and you find it again.”
For the Wishart family, Lego is a way to interact and build stronger relationships.
Often away for work, Junee man Shaun Wishart said it was a way he and his wife, Blaer, could spent time together.
He said the family did not watch a lot of television, but instead built their creations together, develop their grand miniature town, which was on display at Bricktastic.
“It’s an addiction,” Mr Wisehart said. “It’s great because it’s relaxing, it’s fixable and you can turn it into whatever you want.”
Event coordinator Emma Chisholm said Lego was more than a children’s toy.
In fact, she said two older gentlemen had been the first to walk through the door on Saturday.
“They stayed for hours,” Ms Chisholm said. ”It’s something everyone can enjoy.”
The St Joseph’s Primary School committee member said it was hoped the event would either match or exceed last year’s total, with close to $13,000 raised.
“It’s been great … there are so many highlights,” Ms Chisholm said. “All proceeds are going to help fund the redevelopment of the school’s outdoor area.”
She said the event’s success would not be possible without the backing of local businesses and sponsors.
