By contrast, International Midwives’ Day on Saturday brought just one arrival in the hospital’s maternity ward, which last month chalked up a record-breaking 111 deliveries.
April toppled the previous record of 108, which was only set in January.
May and June are also shaping up to be busy months, with around 100 deliveries expected in each month.
Little Jessica Elin Storrar Skidmore was one of the magnificent seven – two boys and five girls – born on Friday.
In Friday’s “race” to be born, she took the bronze, arriving at 9.57am, the first child for mum and dad Jenny and Richard Skidmore of Wagga.
"The whole process was about six hours. It was a bit surprising, she [Jenny] did well though,” midwife Anne Wilson said.
Ms Skidmore says her daughter came out welcoming her new world.
"She came out waving, which was actually a bit challenging," Ms Skidmore says.
Grandparents Kenny and Dawn Skidmore have come to Wagga from Scotland for two weeks to meet their new granddaughter.
At the time Jessica was actually born, they were still en route to Australia and in the air somewhere near Dubai.
