Junee travelled to Cootamundra on Sunday and came away with a 0-1 loss in a very close game.
Junee was stretched for players with four regular players away and players playing out of position and no subs available.
To their credit, the Jaguars girls proved to be resilient and did not give in and played consistently until the final whistle.
The Cootamundra girls came out with intensity but strong defence from Taylah Howell and Keely Hancock in the centre back stopped most attacks.
Cootamundra made a few line breaks after substitutions of some skillful players and scored around 20 minutes into the game with a floating goal and the effect of the sun affecting the end result.
Liv Howell was unlucky not to equalize after beating the keeper only to have the ball deflect off the post and one of the Cootamundra backs and cleared.
