Six guns – two shotguns, three .22 calibre rifles and a .310 – were reported stolen from a Tarcutta farm on March 3.
The guns and a quantity of ammunition had been taken from a locked gun safe in a shed on the farm, police said.
Officers from Wagga’s Rural Crime Prevention Team took charge of the break and enter investigation, with support from forensic specialists and Riverina Police District officers.
That investigation led to a search warrant being executed on a Junee property on March 6, where one of the .22s was allegedly uncovered.
A week later, police recovered the other two .22 and the .310. All guns had their serial numbers removed following the theft, police said.
The remaining two shotguns are still unaccounted for.
Wagga and Cootamundra rural crime investigators arrested an Ashmont man on April 24, charging him with break, enter and steal.
The 31-year-old remains in custody and will appear before Wagga Local Court on June 27.
