Rhythm n Rail secretary and parade coordinator Linda Calis presented the lucky winners with their trophy during a recent scout meeting.
“Their float, marching, and singing were a highlight of the parade,” Ms Calis said.
In true scout style, the children built a floating campsite for this year’s parade, complete with gumtree leaves, camping chairs, and a faux campfire.
Scout leader Jackie Starr said the children got right into it and had plenty of fun on the day.
“We made a campsite with our flags and we had a tent on there with a couple of kids sitting around the campfire, and I played the ukulele,” Ms Starr said.
“All the kids hiked behind the float with their backpacks like they were going on a scout hike – it was great.”
The scouts proudly accepted their trophy, which they will get to hold on to until next year’s festival.
