The stage two students visited the factory as part of an exciting science unit all about plants.
Junee North teacher Gab Commins said the excursion was a great hands-on way to teach the children more about plant life and the growing process.
“They planted a garlic plant and we tasted garlic pizza, so they were able to see what their plant could turn in to,” Ms Commins said.
“They all got a turn, they all got involved, and everyone had to handle their soil and work their hands through it – so it was a very hands-on experience that they probably couldn’t have had at school.”
Ms Commins said she hoped the project would inspire a new generation of budding gardeners.
“Neil said they could come back and visit and water their plants at any time, so I'm hoping it creates that sort of connection for them as well,” she said.
