Rhythm n Rail president Nicholas Pyers said their meeting was all about getting a head start on next year’s festival.
“I only inherited the presidency six weeks out of this year’s festival, and a lot of things that hadn’t been done really caught up on us – so we’re deliberately starting early this time,” Mr Pyers said.
“We discussed different ways to contract artists and get them involved to expand the rhythm side of things next year, because there’s already plenty of rail things in there.”
Eastern Riverina Arts executive director Scott Howie, who met with Mr Pyers, said it was great to work with such a committed group of residents.
“We had a great chat with the Rhythm n Rail team to see what we were able to do to help them out with funding opportunities and using the town’s beautiful venues to their best potential,” Mr Howie said.
“The hardest thing is keeping festivals run by volunteers going, and we always meet the most passionate people at these mobile office meetings who are just so committed to keeping these things going.
“It was so good to see this new organising team come along, and they’re really committed to making the festival happen.”
Mr Pyers also added that any and all members of the public are welcome to attend the Rhythm n Rail Festival’s annual general meeting on May 15 to share their ideas for next year’s festival.
It costs only $1 to become a member of the festival, which gives you full voting rights at the upcoming meeting and for the next year.
