Rhythm n Rail president Nicholas Pyers said festival-goers can expect a jam-packed weekend of extra special fun for the festival’s 10th anniversary.
“Rhythm n Rail has always had a lot of events, but I think this year – our 10th year – would have to be one of the biggest,” Mr Pyers said.
“This weekend will be filled with some fantastic family fun – that’s the best way to describe it.”
Kicking off on Friday morning, this year’s festival boasts more than 30 events and activities, including plenty of live performances, markets, a youth disco, train spotting, a gnome-making challenge, the annual Poet’s Breakfast, and rides on heritage diesel trains.
Mr Pyers said two of the weekend’s highlights will be the bush dance and the street parade.
“We’ve got the bush dance on Friday night, where there’ll be music for all ages and you can just get up, have some fun, and dance without anyone taking it seriously,” he said.
“Then, our street parade on Saturday will have school groups, classic cars, the VRA, dance groups – just a whole lot of different community groups and people getting together to showcase some of their passions.”
There will also be a mock emergency display by the VRA’s Junee sub-branch, who have been chosen as the main beneficiaries of this weekend’s festivities.
Rhythm n Rail begins at 9am on Friday, and the fun goes right through to Sunday evening.
