WEEK four of the Wagga District Bowling Association were played in windy conditions around the Riverina and for Junee, two out of three ain’t bad, with fours in dominating form and sevens fighting out an overall win.
Our fourth grade travelled to Rules Club to play the Rules (3) team and they couldn’t have hoped for a better result, the perfect outcome and convincing 10 – 0 victory beating Rules 70 – 45.
Jock Commins, Bryan Purse, Craig Shaw and Martin Cousley leading the charge winning comfortably 30 – 18. In game two Jack Cousley, Corey Hazell, Warren Charlton & Sean Smith played well and also won comfortable 22 – 11.
In the final and closest match of the fixture, Martin Holmes, John Puttock, Ian Cooper and Brett Fanning found just enough in the tank winning 18 – 16 to complete the clean sweep.

FIFTH Grade hosted their third consecutive fixture at home playing in a top of the table clash against the Rules Club.
Newly promoted Ethan Sainsbury played his first match for fifth grade and did not disappoint, partnered with Jeff Chisholm, David Billingham & Allen Shaw were the most consistent team of the round beating a strong rink lead by Terry Rosewall.
The Shaw quartet started strongly leading 11 – 4, but Rosewall fought back strong to trail by two shots with five ends to go. But Junee showed that they would not let this winning escape converting a four shot eighteenth end to win 24 – 16.
Doug Gee, Mick Poole, Jed Passlow and Roy Woodall were consistent throughout the game and also capitalized on a four shot eighteenth end to win 21 – 14. With a 15 shot overall advantage through the first two matches only a disaster would stop Junee from achieving an overall winning result and unfortunately for Junee the worse possible result happened.
In a day to forget Harry Thompson, Robert Minister, Todd Clark and Kel Seton just couldn’t get it all together on the day, with a crushing 27 – 10 loss to Andrew Carey from the Rules Club cost Junee overall points. Rules Club won 57 – 55.

SEVENTH grade also hosted Rules Club needing a win to stay in the pennant race for 2018. Tim Ryan, Graeme Oehm, Brian Smith & Lyle Billingham were in career best form to set a platform for the grade winning 28 – 14. Len Robinson, Leam Paton, Nathan Stanford & Jarrod Smith also won easily 22 – 11. In the final match Jason Flagg, Glen Fanning, Chris Foley & Gary Ferrario didn’t have the best day losing 31 – 12 to Peter Dolden (Rules). But it was enough overall to secure a 62 – 56 victory.
