Riverina police Inspector Rob Vergano said the 17-year-old Junee boy was driving through roadworks along Byrnes Road when he lost control of his yellow sedan.
The car rolled multiple times before coming to rest near the rail corridor.
Emergency services were called to the incident after 12.30am.
Paramedics treated the teenager for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene, before he was taken to Wagga hospital.
The 17-year-old driver remains in a stable condition.
Inspector Vergano urged drivers to take care on the region’s roads, especially when travelling at night.
It comes after Operation Drink Drive, which was conducted across the weekend.
Inspector Vergano said 316 drivers were breath tested and six infringement notices were issues, but no positive breath tests were recorded.
