The positive behavior system ensures that each child comes to school in a positive and happy environment that enhances learning and social experiences.
All year six students have been given the role of prefect so that all students have the opportunity to experience shared and equal leadership throughout the school.
“All students in year six are asked to run school assemblies and are peer support leaders,” principal Jane Addison said.
“Year six students provide leadership to a group of students from kinder to year six by helping them to work together as a team, and develop skills of resilience and social justice.”
Dedicated and competent teachers make optimum learning the focus of the day, accessing professional learning which is relevant and focused on 21st century pedagogy.
Classroom teachers are supported in a number of ways to ensure each individual child’s learning is catered for.
Teacher assistants, a targeted maths teacher and a learning support teacher offer academic assistance in the kindergarten, year one and year two classrooms, while a Gifted and Talented program runs in the primary classrooms.
The Parents and Friends Association links the school community to parents and families by organising social events and fundraisers.
