The Junee Southern Cross checked in with kindies in schools all across Junee Shire to see how they were settling in during week one.
We visited classrooms at Junee Public School, St Joseph’s Primary School, Junee North Public School, Illabo Public School, and Eurongilly Public School.
At every school, we were greeted with big smiles and children who were happily adjusting to a new life of learning with plenty of new friends.
Junee North kindergarten teacher Tammy Makeham said her class was doing remarkably well for week one.
“They’re settling in beautifully, we have 13 in here and we’ve had no tears so far,” Ms Makeham said.
“They’ve gotten straight into their learning and they’re loving it – they’re learning their numbers, and we’re reading lots of books.
“We’ve also been getting to know the routines, so we’ve had lots of trips up and down to the toilets and we’ve walked around the school to see the out-of-bounds areas where we don’t go.”
