JUNEE Bowling Club started its 2018 pennants campaign with mixed results, with victories in fourth and seventh grades, but a devastating loss for fifth grade. Our fourth grade hosted The Rock with Junee winning two rinks to one. The combination of Jock Commins, Bryan Purse, Craig Shaw and Martin Cousley were our best performed team with a dominating victory, 39 to 10. The other victory was the Brett Fanning’s quartet of Martin Holmes, John Puttock, Ian Cooper and Fanning tied at 18-all after 18 ends, a five shot nineteenth end sealed the victory for Fanning winning 24 to 19. Roy Buckley, Corey Hazell, Warren Charlton & Sean Smith were not as successful going down 26 to 13. Junee 9 d The Rock 1.

Fifth Grade travelled to Wagga to play Rules Club and it was a day to forget, with all teams defeated. Jack Cousley, Jeff Chisholm, Roy Woodall and Allen Shaw were unlucky, losing 26 to25. But for Seton and Minister it was not as close. Jake Hersant, Brendan Seton, David Billingham and Kel Seton lost 32 to 16 and Doug Gee, Noel Lawson, Jed Passlow and Minister were beaten 26 to 8. Seventh grade started with a strong victory, with a lot of new players making their debut, and the rookies didn’t disappoint with Ethan Sainsbury the best of the best. The Nathan Stanford lead team of Sainsbury, Harry Thompson, Jarrod Smith and Stanford won , 27 to 20. Jason Flagg, Graeme Oehm, Chris Foley and Garry Ferrario won by seven, 19 to 12. Unfortunately Tim Ryan, Richard Thomas, Brian Smith & Lyle Billingham went down 19 to 15. Junee 9 d Ganmain 1.
