Wet weather forced the postponement of the feature race meeting on Saturday and officials have scrambled to find a new place in the schedule.
Initially it was hoped a new date would be in the next fortnight, but instead the Carnival Of Cups meeting will now be run on March 17.
Junee will take a Saturday night meeting originally scheduled for Wagga with Wagga now gaining a meeting on March 27 instead.
Junee secretary Jo Judd was disappointed to lose the meeting, but was pleased to secure another date.
"There wasn't much available and that was one they threw at us and even though Wagga were on that date they were happy to shift off to let us go there," Judd said.
"It was really good that it worked out in the end."
Steady showers on Saturday morning affected the track surface and stewards deemed the track unsafe to race on.
Even hours after the rain cleared, Judd still didn't believe the track would have recovered in time.
"It was really disappointing as we had great fields and everyone was ready to go," she said.
"If it had of just stopped even half an hour before it would have made a big difference.
"We were just waiting for it to stop, but it just didn't in time.
"The track was still quite wet when we went to have a look at it around 8 o'clock.
"I reckon the mobile would have been flat getting away on it even then."
It means Junee will now directly following larger Carnival Of Cups meeting at Wagga (March 3) and Young (March 10).
Both will host Group Three cup races worth $30,000 while Junee's remains at $14,000.
Harness Racing NSW chief executive John Dumesny said the meeting's Carnival Of Cups status was behind finding a new date.
"That is the only reason," Dumesny said.
"If it had been an ordinary meeting there would no transfer at all.
"It would just be an abandoned meeting because of the congestion."
There was an option to hold the meeting on February 16, the day before Albury's Carnival Of Cups meeting, but they decided against that option.
Both Judd and Dumesny thanked the Wagga club for being so accommodating.
"We here at Harness Racing NSW are very appreciative of the Wagga club for looking at the big picture and that is what is best for the region," he said.
Wagga's new Tuesday night meeting will be used as a lead up to their Easter Sunday meeting.
Junee will next race on February 13, which is a Tuesday night.
