A new contractor, Cleanaway, was employed by Council late last year to take over the collection service.
But in the weeks following Christmas, dozens of angry residents took to social media to plead for something to be done about their festering bins after multiple missed pick-up days.
Angie Griffin’s bins weren’t emptied for over two weeks, and were finally collected late on Tuesday after sending an irate email.
“They’re trying to do things on the cheap and look now our beautiful town is a tip,” Ms Griffin said.
“I think they should be calling a town meeting to tell us what they have done and what they are going to do to fix it.”

Council issued a public apology and explanation on January 9.
“We apologise for the inconvenience, and for underestimating how much disruption appointing a new contractor has caused,” it said.
“We are working with the contractor to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.”
It’s understood delayed registration of the new garbage van, followed by a break down of the replacement truck contributed to the mess-up.
Disruption is likely to continue for a number of weeks and council are reportedly negotiating a refund from the contractor.
A number of council staff postponed their leave to help over the Christmas break when they heard about the issues and have run collections as late as 9pm.
Junee Shire Council said a free tip day will be held next month to compensate residents for the mix up, with a date yet to be announced.
When contacted, nobody from council was available for comment.
Cleanaway were also contacted for comment, but did not respond to The Daily Advertiser’s questions.
Garbage collection days will remain the same for most residents, however Illabo and Bethungra’s collection day has changed to Wednesday and times may differ.
Anybody experiencing continued issues with their service can contact Junee Shire Council on 6924 8100.
