Cootamundra police allege the men, both from Young, had broken into a gun safe, stealing two rifles and ammunition, along with two motorcycles and a lawn mower on December 22.
Detective Inspector Scott Wilkinson said officers’ investigations had led to the arrest of a 32-year-old and 26-year-old man.
He said all property – including an additional firearm, not connected to the alleged theft – had been recovered.
The 32-year-old was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, possessing goods suspected of being stolen and various firearms offences. He was refused bail.
The 26-year-old was also charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, and was granted conditional bail to appear at Young Local Court on January 23.
