A huge 80 people attended the first community meeting for the Junee Lifestyle Village development on Wednesday, November 22.
Developers presented early plans and took expressions of interest from potential investors.
Committee chairperson Michael Commins said the plans presented are by no means set in stone and customising designs is an important part of the project.
“The real aim was to get feedback as to what people are looking for... the designs are still quite airy at the moment and we needed to feed that specific information on how the homes will be shaped back,” Mr Commins said.
Junee residents have until the end of Februrary to express interest before spots are opened to Wagga and beyond.
Construction is due to begin in April with the first walk-in housing earmarked to be completed by December next year.
Anyone wishing to express interest is encouraged to get in touch with Mr Commins.
At last week’s ordinary council meeting, Council conditionally approved the subdivision creating 12 residential lots at the southern end of the block and requiring the extension of John Potts Drive.
The residential lots have an average size of 930 m2 with the remainder allotted to the lifestyle village development.
