A storm, bringing heavy rainfall, was predicted to hit the Riverina on Monday afternoon, with reports of hail between Wagga and Junee shared on social media after 2pm.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned the rainfall could include large hail stones, causing flash flooding in some areas.
This prompted a warning from emergency services across Wagga and surrounds.
With rain expected to continue across the week, NSW State Emergency Service region controller Jon Gregory advised residents to use common sense.
“If you don’t have to be out and about when the weather is bad, don’t be,” Mr Gregory said.
“Don’t shelter under trees, drive to the conditions and never enter flood water.”
