Yalbayarra: telling to speak has brought together schools across Wiradjuri Country to engage with the collections of The Art Gallery of NSW and Wagga Art Gallery, and included opportunities for students and teachers to make connections with local Wiradjuri artists, artworks and language.
The reception and participation in the program has been truly amazing, with many wonderful outcomes for all participants.
The schools participating included Franklin Public, Jugiong Public, Junee North Public, Temora Public, and Yerong Creek Public, with students at every school creating an amazing array of diverse artworks.
Wagga Art Gallery welcomes all to this celebration of creativity, diversity and engagement of schools, galleries and communities. There is so much to be seen from prints and paintings to beautifully woven objects. Come along and discover the hidden stories, talents and visions of our region’s next generation of artists.
Yalbayarra: telling to speak will be officially launched on Saturday, November 25 at 1pm. The exhibition will be on display until Sunday, January 7, 2018.
