The decision has been made and two old friends are waiting anxiously to find out who’ll wear the Junee Showgirl sash for 2017.

Brittney Longmore and Hannah Turner gave their final speeches on Saturday evening for judges and close to 50 guests at the Junee Ex Services Club.
The two contestants have been mates for years, meeting through dance class.
Hannah is 19 years old and studying a bachelor of creative arts and design at CSU, while Brittney studies education with a major in English literature.
They’ve both been obsessed with the show since they were little girls.
Ms Turner said it was special to be able to share the experience with an old friend.
“You know who you’re going up against and it doesn't matter who wins- she’d just be perfect,” she said.
She entered the show to be a role model for younger women and to give back to the community.
Ms Longmore, also 19, works part time at the Junee Ex Services Club said she was inspired by the generous spirit of the town she grew up in.
“Junee is a town that really shows what community means, I want to give back to the place that gave so much to me,” she said.
Despite there only being two entries into the contest this year, Ms Longmore said she doesn’t think the event is old fashioned.
“The second I stepped out as a competitor I felt more mature and more able to be myself,” she said.
“I think it really celebrates the way a woman can be. If you like talking, meeting new people and dressing up give it a go!”
Organiser Bernadette Burcher said it was interesting this year that neither girl comes from an agricultural background, but is pleased to see the showgirl tradition still alive after 129 years.
“We’ve always had a showgirl, every year without fail,” she said.
The winner will be announced at the show on Saturday, October 28.
