In the weeks leading up to the show on October 28, colourful window and business displays will embellish their shopfronts with props and decorations under the theme of ‘The Rooster’.
“The competition was well supported last year, with many businesses using imagination and creativity to dress up their windows with show-related displays, ranging from farm animals to cooking, flowers and side shows,” show publicity officer Jo Kuiper said.
The competition aims to get the whole community involved with the show and bring the attractions to the main street as well as the Showground.
“We usually have quite a good poultry display so we wanted to help promote that,” Ms Kuiper said.
Last year’s competition was taken out by H B Accounting Pty Ltd in Lorne Street. Ms Kuiper said there are even more business entries this year.
Window displays will be judged on October 14 with the winners being announced at the Junee Showgirl dinner to be held that evening at the Ex-Services Club. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third. Judging for the Showgirls kicks off from 6pm with a dinner at 7.
