Junee’s second You Matter Day was a huge success, with the community out in support for mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Committee president Jade Bramble said the turnout this year was “awesome”.
“There was an electric energy throughout the day,” she said.
“Seeing the amount of support with so many balloons and watching everybody let go of them at once was amazing.”
Survivor and motivational speaker Pat Lawson gave a speech and led a suicide prevention chant, concluding with the words, “I promise that I will not die at the hands of my own suicide.”
“Everyone repeated it back and there was not one dry eye in the house,” Ms Bramble said.
“We were all just swept away by the power of all chanting it together.”
