Scarlett Wilson worked hard in attack, grabbing the ball whenever it got loose and looking to make quality passes. Claire Rowett teamed up with Scarlett in the first half, attacking to the best of their ability as we struggled to get the ball up to the circle.
Sophie Baldock and Clare Harris worked well together in the attacking third, passing the ball confidently and taking some fabulous shots on goal. Clare intercepted passes regularly and made her opponent work hard to defend her, while defending strongly before her move to GS. Sophie provided an excellent target when moving the ball up the court in attack with fantastic support from Charlotte Asmus, who played a brilliant game at centre.
Charlotte defended strongly at GD and tracked her player well, making it extremely difficult for her opposition. She intercepted the ball repeatedly and after a quality pass, was always on the move in preparation for the return pass.
Addie Reberger and Millie Drum were brave in defence during the second half, with strong marking and excellent rebounding against a very confident attack. They continually intercepted the ball and tried hard to get the ball to the safety of the centre third.
This week’s Junee Licorice Factory’s player of the week was Holly Fitzhardinge. She played on the wing and constantly provided support in attack by finding space away from the swarm and presenting as an option for an easy pass. In a close game, this really made a huge difference to the strength of our attack. Despite struggling with a height disadvantage in the second half, Holly persevered in defending her player every time their team had the ball and challenged her opponent to find space during the game. Well done Holly!

THE under 12s Junee GEO Jewels were defeated by Kooringal, 31-8. The Jewels did their best throughout the game, but were defeated by a stronger side. In the final quarter, when Kooringal took off two of their stronger players, the Jewels were able to match their opponents all over the court.
Chloe Masters was the Junee Licorice Player of the Week. Chloe had to take over in an emergency, due to injury, at Centre during the game. The improvement she has shown every game, in her first season, continued, despite the challenging circumstances.
In attack Caidence Reberger made a fantastic start in her first game at shooter, while Ali Corbett and Ellie Baldock were impressive working alongside her. Charlotte Dendy and Zoe Fitzhardinge gave it their all in defence against talented opponents and were successful at moving the side into attack, when we got the ball in the defensive third. Maddison Huard and Erica Wooden also did an excellent job in helping move the ball from defence into attack.
