The town is gearing up to celebrate its iconic rail history and talented musicians across three days, with proceedings kicking off on Friday night and running through to Sunday.
The festival’s first ever street parade will begin from Peel Street on Saturday at 10am.
The parade will feature school groups, a pipe band, historic tractors and vintage cars, along with a handful of participants from the 1978 celebration of the Junee railway centenary.
It will conclude with the auctioning off of a railway worker’s house themed cubby house, donated by Hotondo Homes Junee, for the Make A Wish foundation.
Junee’s railway heritage will be celebrated with historic train rides being made available on a 1920s Tin Hare locomotive.
Rides will take place across all three days, leaving from Junee Station during the day on Saturday and Saturday.
Sunset spiral’ night trips also available on Friday and Saturday.
Tours will be available at the Junee Roundhouse Museum, where volunteers are expecting about 400 visitors per day.
Festival goers will also be able to witness Peter Neve's private railway on Wardle Street, which is home to a 1915 Hunslet steam-powered locomotive.
Meanwhile, the festival will place a strong emphasis will be place on celebrating locally produced music, according to Rhythm n Rail deputy chair and marketing coordinator Allan Tucker.
“We’re keen to support the Riverina’s musical talent,” Mr Tucker said.
“Music will be widespread all the way from the licorice factory, the museums, the Athenium and into the Memorial Park area.
“Buskers will also have a go, chalking up their talents and the street parade is shaping up to be a great foundation for future year’s events.”
Other musical events include Beautiful Music at the Athenium, which will feature performances by some of the Riverina’s most accomplished musicians on Saturday, and Voices on the Veranda, a showcase of locally-produced music upstairs at the Broadway Museum.
A bus service will connect all of Junee's major tourist attractions, offering pick-up every 20 minutes.
