It was far from a smooth ride for the daredevil, with the battery failing in the Harley Davidson XR750 after two speed runs.
A quick switch of the battery from the spare meant Mr Ryan was off again completing the jump over a helicopter with ease.
“It was so hectic beforehand I didn’t have time to be nervous,” Mr Ryan said.
“You can’t predict (what will happen) … you can prepare but it’s the smallest things which can go wrong.”
As part of the Rhythm ‘n’ Rail Festival, Mr Ryan will jump lengthways over a 48 Class locomotive at the Monte Cristo property.
It means a early mornings and late nights preparing the ramp and testing the battery charger again.
“Because of the size of the train, I have limited stopping distance, getting over is one thing and stopping is another,” he said.
“I’ll have a spare battery ready.”
The jump is scheduled for 3.30pm on Saturday March 12.
