As part of the Roads Budget for the Cootamundra Electorate, NSW government funding of $2,554,200 has been allocated in the 2015-16 Budget for improvements to local and regional roads through the Safer Roads Program.
"This is part of the NSW Government's 2015-16 record road safety budget of $307 million, made up of State and Federal contributions," Katrina said.
"Locally in the Cootamundra Electorate, the program will fund upgrades on sections of: Goldenfields Way at Old Junee; the Olympic Highway south of Cowra and east of Apps Lane Young; the Newell Highway at Kalms Lane and the Sturt Highway at Collingullie.
"Also included will be the widening of the road shoulder and installing safety barriers on the Snowy Mountains Highway and Brungle Road near Gundagai.
"Generally projects approved under this program are lower cost improvements which can be delivered quickly to provide greater safety for all road users in local communities.
"That is, local communities like ours. I was thrilled to hear about the funding we were allocated.”
