With between 80 and 100 people expected at the reunion, it’s slated to be one of the village’s largest social events this year.
The guests are all descendants of Helenor and Aubrey Thornton.
Aubrey is the eldest son of Walter and Charlotte Thornton.
Among the guests expected are 13 of Helenor and Aubrey’s children.
To mark the occasion, visitors will be laying a headstone in the Wantabadgery cemetery and with the help of Junee Shire Council a plaque commemorating Walter and Charlotte will be placed.
“It’s to recognise that they are buried there,” Darryl Thornton said.
“We’re hoping to celebrate the life of our grandparents,” Aubrey’s daughter Shirley Sadleir said.
The Thornton reunion will be held at the Wantabadgery hall on November 15.
