Some of the show committee visited town for the first time earlier this year.
“We drove around and had a look at a lot of other places, and just fell in with Junee, we thought this is it,” John Cummings, committee member said.
Junee beat Albury and Wagga in securing the show, which will feature 45-55 head of cattle from small calves to huge bulls.
A marketplace featuring Scottish-themed stalls with mead and haggis is also in the works, but won’t be finalised until next year.
The show was last held in NSW in Cowra in 2011, with record entries.
“We don’t have the full numbers on how many are coming yet but I’m fairly sure we’ll book a fair few hotels out,” Mr Cummings said.
Sabina Wunsch, manager of the Junee Motor Inn, said it’s a wonderful opportunity for the town’s tourism.
“We are very happy about this, and looking forward to having around 50 cattle and owners, family and friends visiting us.”
The show will be held over the Queen’s birthday long weekend on June 10.
