Now, after a 38 year hiatus, the former school captain has been a core part of bringing it back to life.
“It will be about the memories and basically a reenactment of the old fete,” Ms Shepherd said.
“It’s really nice to see the organisations around town giving something back to the school.”
The afternoon will feature 15 market stalls, amusements, sports games and music from the school and teachers’ band.
An auction of students’ metalworking prowess will be held on the night, with hand worked items up for grabs to support former student Seb McInerney.
Students who recently competed in the State Robotics Cup will give a demonstration of their robots.
Local stunt-man Lawrence Legend will be there and Rotary will run multiple raffles throughout the day. The Junee Car Club and Gasworks will also feature some classic cars.
Home science teacher Ms Turvey and her students will be providing a candlelit devonshire tea, recreating an old fete tradition.
The fete will kick off at 4.30pm on Friday, November 3.
