Noon: Wantabadgery Picnics, at the Wantabadgery Racecourse.
2pm: Young Henry’s Indie Train is a fundraiser raising money and awareness for Mitochondrial Disease at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. The earlier part of the event is from 2pm until 5pm as a family afternoon. There will be barrel train rides, face painting, jumping castle, market stalls and much more. Gold coin donation at the gate and tokens purchased for internal use. The late session is an 18+ event with music by Mollie Waters, Day Shift and james Bennett with silent auctions running throughout. Tickets for the evening session: eventfinda.com.au, $30 to $50.
6pm: Melbourne pilot, Michael Smith, is the first person to fly solo around the world in an amphibious plane and he was named Australia’s Geographic’s Adventurer of the Year for 2016. The Friends of the Athenian are delighted to announce that Michael will be visiting the Junee Athenian Theatre on Saturday, October 21, 6pm. Cost: $15. He will give a talk on his extraordinary adventure, present a DVD and do a Q&A.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26
10.45am: The British Commonwealth Occupational Forces (Japan) Association of Australia (BCOF) members will hold a memorial service in Junee at the Cenotaph at 10.45am. If the weather is unkind the service will be held in the Junee Ex-Services Club. School children and veterans are welcome to attend.
