The Jaguars rode a pair of late goals to a 2-0 victory over the Warriors at Tumut’s Bull Paddock on Sunday.
Nothing could separate the two sides for the majority of the game, an accurate snapshot of their three regular season encounters.
Both teams created opportunities from the middle of the park but struggled to find the same kind of creativity and execution up front.
But everything changed in the 75th minute when Junee’s Chelsea McGregor found the back of the net, tapping in a loose ball which Warriors keeper Chelsea Pape-Gray fumbled following a long ball in.
First-grade returnee Angela Barclay then formally booked the Jaguars’ ticket to the grand final with a well-measured strike in the 87th minute.
Junee coach Adrian Weir said the key to victory was having a full side to choose from for the first time all season.
“Having 16 fresh girls available made all the difference,” Weir said.
“Bringing Angela (Barclay) and (Steph) Puttock back into the side was huge too, neither of them had played against South Wagga all year.”
