Wagga, clean up your act
We are a couple of 70+ Kiwi’s who have come over to Australia to visit old friends we made while working here almost 50 years ago.
We are staying off Red Hill Road with our Aussie mates.
We walk most days at home so thought it would be nice to walk in your sunny clear days than our windy ones we have had recently.
Just having walked around part of your lovely city, a circuit of about 4.5km, we were enjoying our walk and wanted a wee rest to just sit and soak up the surroundings.
Alas, there was not a park bench to be found.
We walked past a retirement village and thought that it would be an asset from them if there were a seat or two on this circuit.
We did, however, enjoy our walk and were saddened to see that you too suffer from the “Nocturnal Idiot Bridge” that we have in NZ.
On our Sunday walks we take three plastic bags with us to pick up RTD cans, bottles and paper cups in order to keep our area tidier.
As we are no longer Olympic athletes now, we like to have a walk to keep us fit and healthy in order to do so.
A park bench with ANZAC on it would be great plus a rubbish bin or two as well.

Great interest in island
In my travels I spent time in Guam and Saipan. The military presence by the US is significant. No wonder the DPR of Korea have a fixation with Guam.
Anchored off shore were some 20 large container ships owned by the US. Each ship is fully equipped with service personnel and military equipment to enter a conflict for 30 days.

Piccoli’s departure a loss
In the dumping of Piccoli as education minister, NSW lost one of the best to occupy an extremely demanding job.
One can only wish him every success in his new position with the UNSW. Educators can look forward to thoughtful and innovative results from an institute led by one held in high regard by many in the teaching profession.
