A brilliant piece of Marissa Ward-Steph Puttock combination play ultimately proved to be the difference-maker, as Puttock played a delightful through ball to a sprinting Ward, who then smoothly beat the keeper.
From there, Junee defended with their lives to hold onto the 1-0 victory and extend their season for at least one more week.
Junee coach Adrian Weir said his troops showed tremendous character to win the tight contest.
“All the girls played really well, they gelled well and they busted their butts all game,” Weir said.
“Both teams had their early chances and I thought we could’ve been up 2-0 at half-time.
“But thankfully our defence was very strong all game.”
Junee’s next task is to topple South Wagga for the first time all season in Sunday’s preliminary final.
