Charlotte Asmus was the Junee Licorice Factory player of the week. Her outstanding efforts making herself available for passes and fantastic movement within the circle at GA greatly contributed to the success of the whole team.
Claire Rowett and Clare Harris really stepped up this week, forcing deflections and intercepting passes brilliantly. Addy Reberger, Sophie Baldock and Holly Fitzhardinge smothered their players in defence and were quick to find space in attack. Scarlett Wilson and Millie Drum both demonstrated how much they’ve improved, moving the ball into the circle and then passing cleverly around the defenders. They kept their heads under pressure and their skill meant that we scored more goals in one game than we have in the whole season.

UNDER 12s Junee GEO Jewels were defeated by division leading Marian Tigers. Although the size and skill of the Tigers kept them in front throughout, the Jewels started strongly and were able to maintain their effort and skill level throughout. We scored goals in every quarter against the strongest defensive side in our division, whereas earlier in the season the Tigers had held us scoreless for an entire game.
The Junee Licorice Factory player of the week was Ali Corbett. Every week Ali’s work rate in both attack and defence is tremendous. In this game she played three positions (GA, C and GD) and was an influential part at all three.
Under 12s Gems versed the tough New Kids Blues but maintained their fight for the ball throughout the game. Ella Fitzgerald and Trinity Johns shot against tight defenders. Matilda McDevitt, Lara Drum and Mia Phillips were quick in the centre court to move the ball, especially after the many impressive intercepts by Makeeta Jenkins. Rory Rowett and Mykayla Parkhurst also provided strong competition in defence. Although the girls lost 42-12, the score didn't show the effort the improvement the girls proved they have made over the season.

UNDER 18s Storm lost closely to New Kids Celtics. It was a tight game with Josie Drum and Brooke Harpley playing relentlessly in defence and Jacinta Cooper and Maddi Harpley shooting well in the circle. Jacinta provided great assistance down the court, along with Jess Barclay, Lily Hodgson, Molly Hodgson and Elise Drum in centre court. Storm lost 31-34, learning a few hard lessons that will hopefully improve their game for next week.
