The girls knocked-down old rivals Henwood Park 2-1 in their deferred round 12 game on Wednesday, July 26 at Burns Park.
Three days later on Sunday, July 30 they knocked heads with ladder leaders Tolland at Rawlings Park, down 2-1 but fighting hard against the seemingly unstoppable top team.
Their efforts saw Junee leapfrog Henwood Park to sit comfortably in third place behind Tolland and South Wagga.
Coach Adrian Weir said they made a huge improvement in the game against Tolland, but have to keep their eyes forward.
“We need to cement that spot in the top four,” Weir said.
“If we lose it could be critical.”

There’s history between the sides who are neck and neck at 2nd and 3rd on the ladder.
When they last met at the Showgrounds on June 6 the 1-1 draw was hard to swallow for Junee, with a red and three yellows called against the Jaguars during the contentious draw.
“We should have beat them last time,” Weir said.
“The girls will be pretty fired up now to make amends.”
Weir said while the squad had put in a “good all round team effort” in the last few weeks to lift them into third, the side’s struggles to finish off are bringing them up short against the big players.
“We’re missing easy shots that should be going straight into the back of the net,” he said.
“We’ve got to shut down their strikers and if we shut them down and the girls finish off their chances we’ll be right,” he said.
The Jaguars play South Wagga at 11am on Sunday, August 13 at Rawlings Park.
