President Alan Brown said the win is a real “feather in the cap” and encouraging given the difficultly gaining new members.
“Our real goal is to maintain a branch people can identify with, particularly if they have issues,” Mr Brown said.
“It’s about providing the opportunity for people to bring their problems forward and advocating on their behalf.”
The branch was recognised for its membership gains and running innovative events.
The branch won a $1500 cash prize, which Mr Brown said would be spent subsidising member event attendance or donated to charity.
