It follows two incidences across the weekend, involving young men who “clearly had too much to drink”.
Inspector Peter McLay said a 22-year-old Junee man was fined twice for drunken behavior, first on Friday night and then again on Saturday.
The young man was involved in a brawl at Junee Hotel on Friday and his refusal to move on resulted in a $550 fine.
He scored the same expense for returning to the Red Cow Hotel after he was forced to leave on Saturday night.
Inspector McLay said an 18-year-old Ashcroft man will face court on Tuesday after he spat at a security guard, who was escorting him from the Victoria Hotel early Saturday morning.
Hours later, he was later arrested for smashing a Wagga business’ window with his fists.
“We’re reminding young males in particular – who think they can do as they wish when they’re drinking – that there will be consequences,” Inspector McLay said.
“We’re cracking down on intoxication levels and unruly behaviour … it wont be tolerated.”
His words come ahead of Operation Barb, which will come into play this weekend.
Inspector McLay said police would be out in force to combat offensive behaviour, with possible consequences including: fines, warnings, cautions and court appearances.
