The huge event featured performances from The Junee Band, TRAINing Band and Community Choir and various ensembles from The Riverina Conservatorium of Music (RCM).
The Junee Band combined with the RCM’s Concert Band to open the event.
Junee Band conductor Keith Griffin said putting the bands together “worked really well”.
More than 100 people filled the hall for the event’s second year. More than $1000 was collected at the door to be put towards funding the Junee Band and the theatre.
“It's our way of putting something back to the upkeep and maintenance of the building,” Mr Griffin said.
“There are all these musicians in our area who’ve had nowhere to play, an event like this gives everyone a chance to get up on stage.”
Jeff Donovan, associate director and head of strings and guitar at RCM, said “it’s just great to have this connection with Junee and get our students and musicians out of town and performing.”
He said combining forces “reinforces the different sections” to make a bigger and better sound.
RCM don’t have venue of their own that accommodates the volume of people and relished the opportunity to perform again in the theatre.
“I think we just about ran out of chairs,” Mr Donovan said.
