Nick and Jessica Wood could not speak highly enough of Junee’s “supportive and nurturing” community this week, after growing up in Sydney and Wagga respectively.
The couple met in Wagga before moving to Junee in 2008, starting a family and building a house locally.
Mrs Wood said Junee was the ideal town in which to raise her two young daughters, Ruby and Ivy.
“Wagga is just so big with so many schools that you just don't get the kind of tight-knit and supportive community base that exists in Junee,” she said.
“But once you get to know people here you become like family to everyone.”
That family atmosphere was rarely more evident than when a local florist dropped off a bunch of flowers at the Wood’s family home following the birth of Ruby.
Mrs Wood added that Junee’s affording real estate had allowed them to build their own home on a large block of land at a young age, an opportunity they say they never would have received in Wagga or Sydney.
