After holding a Biggest Morning Tea for its staff on Thursday in the name of raising funds for Cancer Council, the factory backed it up with a Biggest Afternoon Tea for the public.
Factory employee Rhiannon Druce said the alternative afternoon timeslot was a hit with the public, with hundreds of people flooding the factory for the event.
“It seemed to work really well for people because they were able to come down after finishing work or school,” she said.
“We just thought we’d do things a bit differently which would allow everyone to come along.
“We had a lot of local support and it was a nice wind down for the day for a lot of people.”
The day also featured a live musical performance from local school teacher Sarah Covel, with a healthy number of students and teachers there to support her.
The funds raised are yet to be counted, but the morning tea before the main event raised at least $200 alone.
A percentage of factory sales also went towards the cause.
It marked the second year the factory had run the event.
