The Diesels went out to a 10-0 lead early, but it was the Greens who scored five of the next six tries to have a handy 12-point lead midway through the second half.
Just as the home team looked like bringing up their first win of the season, tries to Aidan and Liam Sweeney and then Cameron Hands with three minutes left sealed the 30-26 victory for Junee.
With captain-coach Matt Hands away, Trent Schubach stepped in as captain.
He thought the team only played about 20 minutes of good football, but they found enough to bring up their third win of the season.
“It was a bit of an up and end day but the boys hung in there and ended up getting the result we wanted,” Schubach said.
“We played a bit patchy in parts of the game, which let them back into the game, but it was a much needed win.
“Hopefully we can build on the back of this.”
