Paul McDevitt cannot recall the last time there was a hole-in-one at the Junee Golf Club.
But he’ll never forget the glorious moment he ended the drought earlier this month.
“Usually it's a miracle if I hit the green,” Mr McDevitt said with a smile.
“We walked over and I said ‘the ball’s not on the green, it must’ve gone over the back’.
“Then someone yelled from across the way ‘have a look in the hole’.”
Mr McDevitt, who has been playing at the local course for about 40 years, was treated like golfing royalty for the rest of the day.
“The people in the clubhouse were congratulating me and then I went to the co-op and people were talking about it there too,” he said.
“Word gets around very quickly.”
