“The girls really needed that and it will do them a world of good,” coach Adrian Weir said.
“It a great confidence boost for us.
“All the goals we scored we really quite good goals and came from great teamwork.”
It was the first win of the season for Junee, who opened the season with a 4-2 loss to Tolland before playing out a 1-1 draw with South Wagga in round two.
Ashley Goode was the star of the show on Sunday.
Not content with a measly hat-trick, Goode proceeded to score four goals against a hapless Leeton defence.
Weir said it the win came as a pleasant surprise.
“We just had no idea what to expect from Leeton because we never had the chance to have a look at them,” he said.
“In those situations we expect the worst and show the other side the respect they deserve.”
Junee now faces Young at Burns Park on Sunday.
The Lions are coming off a 3-2 loss to Cootamundra.
