The Illabo Country Music Stampede will celebrate its 30th year with added star power.
2008 Australian Idol runner-up and 2011 Star Maker winner Luke Dickens will hit the stage for a highly anticipated performance.
But festival publicity officer Caroline Willis said the exciting addition of Mr Dickens would not take away from the festival’s talent quest focus.
“It’s still all about the talent quest,” she said.
“Not many talent quests provide a full backing band and stage setup.
“It’s a professional setup and gives contestants a real taste of the gigs they’ll encounter in the future.”
Talent quest finals will take place on Sunday, while guest artists Grant Luhrs and Aimee Hannan will also perform.
The Illabo Stampeded has helped launch the careers of many successful Australian artists, including multi-Golden Guitar winner Dianna Corcoran and this year’s Golden Guitar male artist of the year Travis Collins.
The festival will run between April 6 and April 9.
