A 31-YEAR-OLD motorist has allegedly been clocked driving 80km/h over the speed limit on the Olympic Highway near Illabo on Sunday.

Gundagai Highway Patrol detected a Victorian man in a Holden Commodore travelling at 180km/h shortly after 7pm.
Police stopped the car and briefly spoke to the driver before issuing him a court attendance notice and suspending his license for six months.
Drivers clocked 45km/h over the limit are instantly suspended.
