The factory has asked its Facebook followers what kind of new treat they would like to see created, with the most popular suggestion to be put into production.

Factory employee Rhiannon Druce said caramel was by far the most consistent theme throughout the post’s comments.

“You’ve got to make what the people want and we’re in the process of sourcing some caramel and seeing how we can chocolate coat it,” Ms Druce said.

A similar promotion last year brought about the creation of the factory’s chocolate coated pretzel.

“We want to keep everyone involved and let them know their input is valued, rather than being a big business doing it’s own thing,” Ms Druce said.

“The factory is one of those things that a lot of locals have watched grow over the years, so they feel a personal connection to it.”
