Issue: Roads
Martin Holmes: Road maintenance is in the budget for the next four years. A newsletter goes out every three months which tells residents where roadworks are being done.
Robin Asmus: Our council do a fantastic job with our roads, but we must lobby for our fair share in state funds.
Pam Halliburton: Except for recent rain, our roads are in good condition. I’m more concerned with traffic flow and the B-Double route around Humphries Street.
Mark Cook: I think we have pretty good roads, especially compared to other shires.
Arron Smith: Roads need to be in good condition, both for residents and to make a good impression on people visiting town.
Colin Randall: Most of our roads are equal if not better than a lot of other shires. But some roads are still terrible and I’ve expressed those concerns.
Joseph Costello: I think we do pretty well in comparison. You only need to look at Byrnes Road where Junee and Wagga Shire meet, there’s a distinct difference.
David Carter: Any road network needs to be maintain to a high level. It's difficult with all the water we’ve had and some have deteriorated.
Kerri Walker: When you compare us to Wagga, we’ve got pretty good roads, but we do need to look at improvement.
Andrew Clinton: Rebuilding roads is about making tough decisions with limited money. It’s a real juggle. We must do what we can.
Neil Smith: Junee Shire has always had an excellent reputation in terms of its roads but this is an unusual season and everyone’s in the same boat.
Matt Austin: The time frame for balancing maintenance, repair and upgrades is well planned. Much work has been done, with work continuing constantly.
Linda Calis: The weather has not been good for the roads. The road to Illabo should be looked at, but we’re still in a pretty good position.
