A fisherman in the US has captured the dramatic moment when a big tiger shark takes a bite out of a hammerhead in Louisiana waters.

Originally posted on Instagram, the footage has gone viral since being placed on the Facebook page of US TV fishing show, Gulf Outdoors. The post has been viewed more than a million times and shared more than 5500 times.
Amateur fisherman Ryan Willsea filmed the encounter while hunting for tuna on a Pelagic Adventures tour. He'd initially hooked the 2.5-metre hammerhead, only for the 450-kilogram plus tiger shark to intervene.
"Here's the 40 second clip of a 7-8 foot hammerhead being eaten off my line by a 1000+ pound tiger shark while I was out tuna fishing," Mr Willsea's post said.
The video appears to be filmed off a GoPro and starts off with one of the fishers saying "you were pulling two sharks in for five minutes."
As the camera moved into the water it shows the tiger shark latching onto the mid-section of the unfortunate hammerhead.
The on-camera struggle - and prolonged bite - lasts for around 20 seconds before the tiger shark moves away.
Tiger sharks can commonly be as big as 600 kilograms and there have been reports of one in Australia growing as long as 5.5 metres and weighing in at as much as 1500 kilograms.
