Defenders Jay O’Mara and Matt Carvoso copped ankle injuries, and striker Travis Weir injured his foot during a game against top-placed team Lake Albert. 

“It’s pretty disappointing, injuries have killed us all season,” Junee coach and goalkeeper Isaac Cooper said.

Cooper was diagnosed with tennis elbow on Tuesday and will continue to play on.

“I can’t pull the pin on it,” he said.

Cooper will fill the squad with reserves as Junee plays in-form Henwood Park on Sunday at 3pm.

“It’s going to be another tough game, we’ll definitely give it our best crack and hopefully we can put up a fight,” he said.

Cooper trusts Lincoln and Adrian Weir will play a vital role on Sunday.

“They’ve been a mainstay,” he said.

“Lincoln, he’s really stood up for us the last few weeks, and his brother’s been strong all year.”

Lincoln returned to the fold, recently along with his brother, Travis, and Geoff Euhus.

The season-ending injuries have come just as Junee has found its feet.

“The last couple of weeks have definitely been our best two games of the season,” Cooper said.

“We had massive improvements, the (4-0) scoreline against Tolland, didn’t reflect how well we played as a unit.”
