The Nationals’ Michael McCormack has campaigned on his infrastructure credentials.

“The levee bank is a Nationals commitment that will future-proof Wagga by protecting the entire CBD,” Mr McCormack said.

“The Nationals have delivered infrastructure across the wider region, as well as defence spending, new roads and NBN to more homes sooner.”

Labor’s Tim Kurylowicz nailed his colours to the Medicare mast.

“Eight out of 10 GPs are urging people to vote Labor; trust your doctor because they know what's best for you,” Mr Kurylowicz said.

“The Australian Medical Association estimates the cost of going to see a doctor will increase by $25 because of the Coalition’s six year freeze to the Medicare rebate.”

Independent Richard Foley boldly claimed he will demand $1 billion if he takes office in a hung parliament.

“We need to swing this seat over to an independent, because Riverina has been a backwater concern to the major parties,” Mr Foley said.

“I will be in a position to ask for $1 billion injection into Riverina, which will go towards all the local councils.”

The Greens candidate and sitting Wagga councillor Kevin Poynter has promised to help the electorate transition to a more “sustainable future”.

“It’s about jobs in renewable energy and new rail transport for freight and commuters,” he said.
